DPS · Moderate to level

Warlock

Pet sustain, self-resources, and a free mount at 40.

Why play it

Warlocks level with almost no downtime: the Voidwalker tanks, Drain Life sustains, and healthstones keep you alive. Fear is both a tool and a liability — learn where it causes patrols to bring friends.

Leveling reality check

Voidwalker plus DoT-and-drain is the safest path. Fear-juggling speeds things up but can pull extra mobs; use it deliberately.

Dual spec at 40

Affliction for solo and farming, Demonology or Destruction for groups. The free mount at 40 is a real gold swing.

Dual-spec rules are community-tracked from the beta. Confirm costs and switching rules with the trainer at 40.

Group value

Pure damage classes trade group flexibility for raw output. Your value shows up in cleave, control, or utility rather than in the group finder.
