Why play it
Hunters level faster than anything else because the pet absorbs damage and you control the fight from range. The skill ceiling moves to pet management, ammo economy, and kiting — all of which matter more in Forever's denser launch-week zones.
Leveling reality check
Send the pet in, keep it fed, and use a weapon that matches your level. Track your pet's happiness — an unhappy pet does less damage and may abandon you.
Dual spec at 40
Beast Mastery for solo leveling and farming, Marksmanship for raid single-target. Survival is a PvP pick.
Dual-spec rules are community-tracked from the beta. Confirm costs and switching rules with the trainer at 40.
Group value
Pure damage classes trade group flexibility for raw output. Your value shows up in cleave, control, or utility rather than in the group finder.
